What is Hot Water Extraction?

Hot Water Extraction (also known as steam cleaning) is one of the most effective and recommended methods for deep carpet cleaning. It involves injecting hot water mixed with eco-friendly cleaning solution deep into the carpet fibres under high pressure. This loosens dirt, allergens, bacteria, and tough stains. The water is then immediately extracted using powerful vacuum suction, along with the lifted soil and contaminants.

This method not only cleans carpets thoroughly but also helps sanitise them, leaving your home healthier and fresher. It is especially effective for homes with pets, children, or allergy sensitivities.

At The Steam Doctor Ltd, we use commercial-grade hot water extraction equipment to ensure a deep and professional clean, restoring the look and feel of your carpets.

Vacuuming Prior to Appointment

To ensure the best results, we kindly ask that you vacuum your premises before The Steam Doctor arrives. Removing surface dust, dirt, and debris allows our deep cleaning equipment to focus on lifting embedded grime and stains, giving your carpets a fresher, more thorough clean. If you would like us to provide vacuuming, please select this option as an add-on when booking through our system.

Furniture Removal

Furniture Removal – Small items only. While all care is taken, we do not accept liability for any damage.

Access to Property

If you won’t be home, please provide key or access instructions. Ensure all pets are secured. Let us know if there are stairs to the property. A suitable water supply is required; irrigation or untreated water is not suitable—please advise in advance if we need to bring our own water.

Location

If you are located in the Kerikeri or Waipapa area, please book directly through our website. For surrounding areas such as Russell, Paihia, Coopers Beach, and others, please contact us to arrange a suitable day. To help with scheduling, we aim to group nearby bookings on the same day where possible. Please note that travel charges apply for locations outside the Kerikeri area.

Payment can be made in advance at the time of booking, or on the day of service—whichever is more convenient.

Minimum charge $260 Inclusive of GST for 1-3 Bedroom Home.

All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are Inclusive of an additional 15% GST.

Quotes are provided based on the information supplied at the time of booking and may be adjusted if the scope of work changes.

Commercial Clients:

• Payment is required on the day of service, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon in advance.
